Financial Results for the Year 2007-08

 
NEST signs an MoU

NEST has signed an agreement of cooperation with Fontys University of The Netherlands. This agreement is signed by Shri D.S. Taunk, Special Director, GNFC and Trustee [NEST] and the Head of Fontys Internationale Hogeschool Economie.

Fontys University is The Netherlands largest higher educational institution with 35 affiliates, 35,000 students and a faculty base of 3,500. This pact will enable NEST’s Narmada College of Management, Narmada College of Computer Applications and Narmada College of Science & Commerce to work in the areas of collaborative research in International Marketing Management, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Information Management, according to Dr.Ajit Desai, Director General [NEST].

This agreement also includes cross cultural diffusion with student and faculty exchange initiatives.

 

The fertilizers and chemicals major GUJARAT NARMADA VALLEY FERTILIZERS CO. LTD. has announced results for the quarter ended 30th June, 2008.

Announcing the highlights of results at Gandhinagar, on 30th July, 2008, Shri Balwant Singh, Managing Director of the Company, informed that:
• During the quarter, there was an extended annual shut down in a large number of plants , delayed start up of plant revamp and damage to Air Compressor in Ammonia Plant. This has resulted into higher number of nil production days. The plants have been re-commissioned in second half of July, 2008.
• The Sales at Rs. 537.83 crores is 6.24% lower over the corresponding previous quarter.
• The Profit Before Tax- PBT- is 62.33% lower at Rs. 43.78 crores as against Rs. 116.21 crores of corresponding quarter.
• Earning Per Share (EPS) is at Rs. 1.82 as against Rs. 4.88 of corresponding quarter.
